Tribunal Decisions

Matters which become formal complaints against veterinary surgeons are heard in the Civil Court before a Disciplinary Tribunal consisting of the Presiding Member of the Board (or Deputy), who is a legal practitioner, and 2 other members of the Board (Vet Practice Act 2003).

Formal complaints against lay people are heard before a magistrate in the Magistrates Court.

The following decisions are listed on this page.

Registrar vs Dr P Kubler - Guilty of unprofessional conduct (images/File/Determination C34-05.pdf.  Disqualified from applying for registration as a veterinary surgeon in SA.

Registrar vs Dr G Mooney - Case dismissed.  Appeal lodged in District Court.  Appeal granted.  Dr Mooney disqualified from registering for 3 months.

Old decisions of Disciplinary Tribunals are matters which are older than 3 years, and where the sentence has been satisfied.  You can find a summary of some old decisions on that page of this site.  For other older decisions you should contact the Registrar and discuss your enquiry.
