Accreditation of Facilities as Veterinary Hospitals
Any facility in South Australia held out to be a 'veterinary hospital' or 'animal hospital' must be accredited. Accreditation can be granted by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia (the Board), or the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association (ASAVA). You should contact the ASAVA if you wish to apply for accreditation under their auspices.
There is a public expectation that an accredited veterinary hospital will offer a higher standard of service than that which is offered by a normal veterinary practice.
